Assembling

Let’s put all the parts together and sew them to the front of our owl. We decorate our owl using embroidery and slip stiches as you can see below.

Now join your two “owl” parts wrong sides together. Try to line up them up so they match. You are going to sc around the outside of them to attach them and you want to them to be perfectly lined up. Now stick your hook through both sides and pull the yarn through (like pictured below) and sc with the pink color.

Sc in each stitch space of both sides around. Make 2sc on the corners of owl’s ears and on the bottom corners.

But leave a hole to stuff the owl with toy filling firmly. And then finish to join parts. Break yarn and fasten off. You owl is almost ready!

Hat.

Row 1: Chain 18 with purple yarn, turn.

Row 2: 16 dc, ch 2, turn.

Row 3: 16 dc, ch 2, turn.

Row 4: 16 dc, ch 2, turn.

Row 5: 16 dc. Break yarn and fasten off.

Then, using a needle let’s gather the upper part of the hat.

Make a few stitches on the back of the hat, as you can see in the picture below. (I use a different color yarn to make it easier to see the stitches, but you will use yarn the same color as the hat).

Scarf.

For scarf chain 80 with purple yarn, turn, and dc each stitch. Break yarn and fasten off. For decoration you can embroider snowflakes with white yarn.

collage4

Now tie a scarf and sew the hat. Your winter owl is ready!
