Wicked Witch of the West Mouse Free crochet pattern

One of my passion is reading and I read books to my kids every evening. Surely we read fairy-tales and adventures stories. That’s why my children love Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow and Tin Man. If you love “Wizard of Oz” I’m sure you need to make the Wicked Witch of the West! Sharing Free pattern with you today.

You can use the ornament for making the Disney pin, magnet, hairpin or backpack clip. You can also use it for decoration of Christmas tree, tag for suitcase in Disney cruise, jewelry (using thinner yarn), bookmarks.

PATTERN.

Materials:

  • Any cotton 100% Weight/Yardage 50g/137yds: Cascade Ultra Pima Fine, 100% cotton or Schachenmayr Catania, etc.
  • Size D/3 (3 mm) crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Abbreviations (US terms):

ch – chain

st st – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

dc – double crochet

sk – skip

st(s) – stitch(es)

Skill Level: Easy

Instructions.

Head.

Round 1: Magic ring with green color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)

Round 2: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (12 sts)

Round 3: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts). Move marker.

Round 4: sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts). Move marker.

Round 5: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st* repeat around. (36 sts). Move marker.

Round 6: sc in each chain stitch around. (36 sts). Move marker.

Round 7: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st* repeat around. (54 sts). Move marker.

Round 8: sc in each chain stitch around. (54 sts). Change the color and continue working with black color yarn.

Make 2 heads.

Hat.

Row 1: ch 2,dc in the next 2 sts, hdc in the next st, sc in the next 5 sts, hdc in the next st, dc in the next st, 2 dc together in the next st . Turn.

Row 2: ch 1, sc in the next 10 sts, 2 sc together in the last sts. Turn.

Row 3: ch 1, sc in the next 9 sts, 2 sc together in the last sts. Turn.

Row 4: ch 1, sc in the next 8 sts, 2 sc together in the last sts. Turn.

Row 5: ch 1, sc in the next 7 sts, 2 sc together in the last sts. Turn.

Row 6: ch 1, sc in the next 6 sts, 2 sc together in the last sts. Turn.

Row 7: ch 1, sc in the next 5 sts, 2 sc together in the last sts. Turn.

Row 8: ch 1, sc in the next 4 sts, 2 sc together in the last sts. Turn.

Row 9: ch 1, sc in the next 3 sts, 2 sc together in the last sts. Turn.

Row 10: ch 1, sc in the next 2 sts, 2 sc together in the last sts. Turn.

Row 11: ch 1, sc in the next st, 2 sc together in the last sts. Turn.

Row 12: ch 1, 2 sc together in the last sts. Break yarn.

Let’s make the field hats. Ch 26 and break yarn. Start working in the 13th st.

Ch, ss in the next 6 sts, sc in the next st, hdc in the next st, dc in the next st, tr in the next 2 sts, dtr in the last st.

Start working in the 14th st, turn the work.

Ch, ss in the next 6 sts, sc in the next st, hdc in the next st, dc in the next st, tr in the next 2 sts, dtr in the last st.

Ears.

Round 1: Magic ring with green color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)

Round 2:  2 sc in each chain stitch around. (12 sts)

Round 3: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts)

Round 4: sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts)

Then 5 sc and ss. Break yarn and fasten off.

Make 4 ears.

Assembling

Sew the ears using needle and green color yarn as you can see at the pictures below.

So you have 2 heads with ears. Sew them together using green color yarn.

Sew the hats with black color yarn.

Sew the field hats on the ornament with the black color yarn as you can see at the picture below:
